NOTICE OF DISMISSAL OF PROPOSED CLASS ACTION AGAINST SUNCOR ENERGY INC.
PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE CAREFULLY. IT MAY AFFECT YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.
By Order of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, this is a notice to all persons in Ontario, whose Personal Information was stored on the computer systems of Suncor Energy Inc., that were impacted by the cybersecurity incident that occurred on or about June 21, 2023 (the “Incident”).
In November 2023, a proposed class proceeding was commenced against Suncor Energy Inc. (the
“Defendant”), in relation to the Incident
This notice is to advise you that the proposed class proceeding has been dismissed. The Ontario Superior Court of Justice has approved the dismissal of this class proceeding and the dismissal became effective on May 28, 2025.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT the limitation period for bringing an individual claim relating to the Incident will begin to run again as of July 28, 2025, which is 60 days after the date of the dismissal Order. You may lose the right to sue after your limitation period expires.
If you wish to pursue a court claim arising from the Incident, you should seek legal advice immediately. Limitation periods may vary between jurisdictions. You should consult your own lawyer about the limitation period that applies to any claim(s) you may have.
